Protiva AI, a student-led Bangladeshi startup, is building a Micro AI Workspace that brings contextual AI assistance directly into PDFs and e-books. Developed by students from KUET, IUB, and DU, the platform aims to eliminate “Prompt Friction” through AI Highlight, AI Note, Native Bangla responses, and real-time collaborative study features. Recently selected for the next stage of the international WSDG Challenge 2026 in Malaysia, Protiva AI is now aiming to take its homegrown learning technology to the global stage.

Bangladesh’s First Micro AI Workspace Protiva AI Sets Its Sights on the Global Stage

While studying online PDFs and e-books, students often struggle to understand complex formulas, graphs, diagrams, or difficult concepts. To get help, they typically have to take screenshots, copy and paste content, or switch between their study material and AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini. This process creates what can be described as “Prompt Friction”—interrupting the natural flow of learning and requiring students to repeatedly provide context and prompts whenever they need help. Addressing this challenge is Protiva AI, a Bangladesh-built Micro AI Workspace designed to bring AI assistance directly into the learning environment.

Protiva AI has been developed by students from KUET, IUB, and the University of Dhaka (DU). The platform is led by Ragib Abid, with Sakib Hasan, Nakib Noor, Abdullah Al Rafi Mahmud, and Badhan Saha as co-innovators.Instead of processing an entire book or document at once, Protiva AI focuses on the specific section of content where a user needs assistance.Whether it is a mathematical formula, graph, chart, or complex concept, students can interact with AI directly within the relevant context—reducing the need to repeatedly take screenshots, copy content, or write lengthy prompts.

Another key feature is the ability to save AI explanations directly on the relevant page. This allows students to revisit previous explanations later without having to ask the same question again.Protiva AI is also designed with Bangladeshi learners in mind, offering Native Bangla AI responses to make complex academic concepts easier to understand for Bangla-speaking students.

The platform also includes features such as AI Highlight and AI Note, helping students identify important information and create contextual notes while studying.

Beyond individual learning, Protiva AI is working toward a more collaborative experience through its Real-time Group Collaboration Study feature. Students can study together within the same file while simultaneously using AI-powered analysis.

From RoboFusion 1.0 to the International StageProtiva AI recently gained recognition through the ROBOFUSION 1.0 Project Showcase, securing an opportunity to move toward the international stage.Following its performance at the showcase, the startup has been selected for the next stage of the international WSDG Challenge 2026, which will be held in Malaysia.Representing Team ProtivaX at RoboFusion 1.0 were team leader Abdullah Al Mamun Jishan, along with Abdullah Al Munir and Badhan Saha.

The achievement marks an important milestone not only for Protiva AI but also for Bangladesh’s emerging student-led technology and startup ecosystem.

Solving a Real Student Problem

At its core, Protiva AI is built around a simple but common problem faced by students: the constant switching between study materials and external AI tools.

By bringing contextual AI assistance, notes, highlights, saved explanations, and collaborative learning into a single workspace, the team aims to make digital learning more seamless and interactive. The platform represents a growing trend among young Bangladeshi innovators who are building technology around problems they experience themselves. With its selection for the next stage of the WSDG Challenge 2026, Protiva AI is now preparing to take its idea beyond Bangladesh. The team’s ambition is clear: to represent Bangladesh on the global stage and build a smarter, more contextual, and collaborative AI-powered learning experience for students.
